The textual depiction of Edgar Allan Poe’s short story, “The Masque of the Red Death,” gave me ample imagination and creative space. I chose to start from Western literature, hoping to feel and study the unique cultural elements of the West in a specific context and era through the depiction of the text. At the same time, I hope that through my unique perspective and personal interpretation, the final visual presentation will be more in-depth and better convey the spirit of the work.
This project is an adaptation of a Western literary work. The presentation combines graphic novels and visual research archives to tell a complete story from different sensory dimensions.
