This project is a website to present a narrative showcasing digital artefacts produced using the several tools and software learnt during module MD 4004 – Digital Media Foundations.
The topic chosen for the project is protest culture, more specifically street protest: Say No To Racism!
On Saturday March 18 2023, thousands gathered & marched through the streets of central London to protest racism and the government’s proposed bill to deport refugees who arrive through the English Channel, as well as to oppose the growth of the far-right.
A team of four students covered the protest and used it as a starting point to develop the narrative project.
From the homepage (landing page), the website is divided into four main areas where the artifacts are displayed: Animation, Graphic Design, Photo Essay and Podcast.
Each area showcases one artifact. Each artifact was created by a different member of the team: Mahmoud, Precilla, Raul and Youssef. The visitors can access the four main areas using the left-hand side menu, where the artifacts are listed in alphabetical order, or by clicking on the portraits of the team members shown on the centre of the screen.
The website was built using the sample web-code templates provided by the lecturing team, featuring a mix of HTML and CSS code.
