This project is designed and explored with the ocean as the main background. First of all, it all started because of my grandfather’s influence on me growing up. He was a researcher who studied marine life. He would often discuss with me the diversity of marine life and what humans were doing to the ocean.
During this period of in-depth understanding of marine pollution, I found that the problem of marine ecological pollution made me realise that human beings should think about our own behaviour instead. Human beings should make conscious efforts to reduce the destruction of ecological environment, such as chemical substances and deliberate destruction.
Therefore, I began to pay attention to marine ecological problems, and I hope that the design presented in this project can be reflected and solutions can be found. As we all know, the water pollution caused by denim production is a perennial topic, especially the breakage caused by washing denim.
Consequently the main fabrics of this project are from second-hand denim and pure cotton. First of all, the use of second-hand denim can reduce the production of denim, reduce the unnecessary waste of production and old clothing can be effectively recycled. Second, pure cotton is made of degradable ingredients, durable and biodegradable so that it does not produce world waste.
Turn over to thinking.
