Based on Graphic Props within the film industry, ‘Dissertation Diorama’ is a miniature set depicting the only habitat endured in the weeks leading up to dissertation hand-in. Focusing on specific aspects of my surroundings such as furniture, books and general ephemera, the diorama signifies the journey to a finished essay. Replicating real life, the diorama replicates the Balham Library desk, books that were used for research and actual home furniture. Along with the miniature world, a small print of the dissertation is included to be read with a magnifying glass.
‘Dissertation Diorama’ works as an informant to a person’s workspace whilst on their journey to finishing their degree. The scene is created entirely by hand.
