This is a storybook called City Of The Wind. This story tells of a man who stumbles into a city ruled by the god of wind. This utopia city provides free food, water and money and people there living in a simple life. But at the same time, the god doesn’t allow “something”, such as gambling or drinking. But the man is a drunkard, idle and proud with this in his precious life, so he really cannot endure this. He feels confused and wants to find a way back home…….at the end of the story, he finds out that is only a dream, because he drank at home for many days, and the wind does not even circulate in his room. He opens the door and sees beautiful views with a gentle breeze.
The inspiration for this story came from the wind. As I lived in different cities, I became aware of how the wind took on unique forms and characteristics in each place. I researched folklore stories about the wind from various regions and used them as inspiration to create a story about venturing into a city ruled by the wind.
At first, the main character is satisfied living a peaceful life without any achievements, but he also feels anxious because he lacks a sense of purpose. Each reader will have a different interpretation when they encounter this story. I haven’t provided a definite ending to the story—it could be a dream or it could be real, with the city ruled by the wind existing within the protagonist’s mind.
