His main interests are storytelling and finding different ways to tell a story which allows him to explore different media and filmmaking techniques, such as editing. His films are dark, atmospheric and aim to immerse the viewer in the story through dramatic visuals and ambient soundscapes.
ABOU KEES is an experimental film that uses a mix media to tell a story. The story talks about growing up and the loss of childhood: the loss of novelty and imagination when becoming a rigid adult that overthinks anxiously. It is an homage to the importance of childhood, the necessity of play in all life stages, which led Issa to play with various filmmaking components.
