Hi, I’m Hope! My work is curious and inquisitive, supported by extensive research and creates related responses for people.

My ideas are often triggered by niche but relatable occurrences and observations, which I like to challenge using conceptual thoughts. My approach is to always bring a sense of playfulness: I like to experiment with the balance between serious realities and playful but logical responses since they’re grounded in solid research. Who can argue with a crazy idea when it’s backed up by solid research and… works? I let the project and research decide whichever medium is most fitting, taking on skills like jewellery making, carpentry and coding to make it happen.

Above all, I like to ask questions. Mostly ‘what if?’

[The Multi-Stage Life]

There is a language problem with aging. If lives are getting longer and we are predicted to jump between education, work and rest in order to live a healthy, long life, how can we continue to use age-determined language for these life stages?

The Multi-Stage Life proposes a new naming system and framework to understand life stages of education, work, and rest; the merits of each; and the benefits overlapping these stages can bring. The project puts this new framework into the perspective of a speculative Multi-Generational Sports Day – games are tailored to play to the strengths of each life stage, whilst crossing over skills with other stages. The project research is summarised in a newspaper, which includes proposals for simple steps towards a healthy, long life.

A collection of research and proposals surrounding the topic of ‘The 100 Year Life’ and living a long, healthy life.
