I have made a piece of head jewellery made of a variety of textured and coloured stained glass, copper wire, copper coloured chain and jump rings and a stainless steel frame. It is ‘worn’ by two people: the actual wearer and the individual that the coloured projection falls onto in order two achieve a two point empathetic perspective on communicating the symptoms of Irlen Syndrome such as visual distortions, light sensitivity and migraines. This takes into account both his experiences but also the interaction and understanding that people around him have towards his visual processing disorder. I believe an empathic conversation between the two perspectives have been achieved in a sensitive but also celebratory way.
