Born in Nepal but grown up in London, Anjeela Thapa is a mixed media artist whose work explores the topics of Identity, Language, Multiculturality and Mental health. With an affinity for bold colour palettes, she enjoys creating prints, zines, and short animations. She also likes to experiment with various forms of making and crafting. As an artist, Anjeela aspires to create safe spaces to have sensitive, sincere, and empathetic conversations with others, initiated through the sharing of their own personal story and art.
“Nanu o Nanu kina worry?” is a reflective journey into the concept of how language forms cultural identity, written in the form of childhood anecdotes compiled into a zine. “I love you” is a short animation which looks at various expressions of love according to people from different cultural backgrounds.
“Uncomfy” is on the subject of Chronic pain and its long term effects on mental health. “Summer in prints” is a collection of prints based on the struggle with over-socialising and then self-isolating.
