Anika Juen is an illustrator and painter with an international background, now based near London. Her work is inspired by her love of nature and tactile methods of making, as well as the documentation of the stories which can be found around us, and in the spaces which humans have left behind.
Her final year work, ‘Forest of the Heart’, is a collection of illustrations inspired by explorations of nature during an age of increasing urbanisation, and the spaces around us that have been left to nature’s will for change and decay. The work aims to communicate the feeling of otherness and solitude that may be experienced in nature, despite the multitude of plant and animal life that surrounds us.
